109.01 - UNIFORMS -DRESS CODE I. Guidelines for condition appearance of members. This will let members know what shirts to wear for each function or activity. A. Uniform shirts with badge (Short or long sleeve depending on the season) 1. Funerals and Visitation 2. Fire Inspections 3. Special Functions: Banquets, Award Ceremonies Etc. B. Polo Shirts 1. Supply shopping or picking up something for your station 2. Eating Out 3. Training: Seminars on duty, inside training with special speaker; 4. When giving scheduled tours at your stations. 5. Show and tell at schools or company picnics C. T-Shirts and Sweat shirts 1. Around station 2. In house training 3. Mowing or any outside work.
D. Coveralls: Working around station, painting, mowing, and maintenance or training outdoors. E. Caps: Caps can be worn anytime it is O.K. to wear Polo shirts. (No caps with Uniform Shirt and Badges) F. Coats and Jackets: Must be department issued. G. Shorts or Sweats: May be worn from 7:00 P.M. -6:30A.M inside your station (This includes Saturday and Sunday)
II. General Requirements
A. All members shall be issued uniforms and shall wear the appropriate uniform while on duty. This rule does not apply to the Chief, Fire Marshal and support staff.
B. Uniforms shall not be worn off duty except, as provided in this section.
C. Uniformed members of the department shall report for duty in the prescribed uniform.
D. Only uniforms issued and approved by the department shall be worn while on duty or at other times identified herein as appropriate.
E. Uniforms shall be kept clean, neat, and in a proper state of repair.
F. Jacket and shirt pocket flaps shall be buttoned at all times. Pockets shall be free of objects that create bulges or that otherwise detract from a professional appearance.
G. A member in uniform shall at all times wear a belt.
H. Shoes and boots shall be kept clean and polished at all times. Shoes worn by members shall be black lace-type or smooth, round-toed, pull-on boots (no cowboy boots).
III. Rank insignias A. Gold rank insignias shall be worn on the Class A uniform by the Chief, Captains, Training Officer and Fire Marshal.
B. All other members shall wear silver department rank insignias on their Class A uniforms.
C. The insignia shall be worn parallel to the front edge of the collar, centered one-half inch from the top and bottom.
IV. Seasonal clothing A. The department shall issue jackets, coats, as appropriate. B. Navy blue or white thermal underwear may be worn under the uniform but must not be visible. V. Non-uniformed members
A. All clothing worn by non-uniformed members shall be neat, clean, and appropriate for the occasion.
B. Nothing may be worn that could constitute a safety hazard or be offensive to another person on the basis of age, color, disability, ethnicity, national origin, political or social affiliation, race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. |
